Excursion Nairobi National Park & David Sheldrick Elephant Sanctuary
Nairobi National Park
Your guide will arrive early in the morning at your residence/hotel for a half day morning drive at the world-famous Nairobi National Park. Pick-up will be at 06h00 and proceed to the park where you will begin with an early morning game drive which offers the best time to view wildlife in their natural habitat. Your guide will take you through the different areas of the park where you will be able to have the ultimate experience of viewing the different types of wildlife such as the Big 5 i.e. Lions, Cheetahs, Leopards, Rhinos as well as various species of bird life present in the park. The trip will take you approximately 4 – 6 hours. After the trip, you have the option of having lunch in the nearby city restaurants such as Carnivore Restaurant, Tamarind Brasserie (formally known as Tamambo Restaurant) or Cultiva Farm Restaurant in Karen, Nairobi. Thereafter, you will be dropped back at your residence/hotel later in the afternoon.
David Sheldrick Elephant Sanctuary – Nairobi
The David Sheldrick Elephant Sanctuary is one of the most interesting places to visit while in Nairobi. The sanctuary hosts orphaned and abandoned baby elephants from various regions in Kenya and raises the baby elephants until they are 2 – 3 years old before the process of re-integrating them back into the wild with the other wild elephants begins. Visitors to the sanctuary are wlecome to foster the baby elephants at their discretion where funds raised from the adoption are used to cater for their care in the sanctuary.
