Brief Itinerary

DAY 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara National Reserve
On arrival in Nairobi, our driver guide will pick you up in the early hours of the morning and proceed to Maasai Mara National Reserve. You will have a short stop over at Great Rift Valley View Point along the way to get an opportunity to see and learn about the Great Rift Valley. Afterwards, proceed to Maasai Mara and check in at Tipilikwani Mara Camp where you will have late lunch. Thereafter you will have a short rest then go for a game drive later on in the afternoon. Overnight will be at Tipilikwani Mara Camp on Full Board Basis.

The Maasai Mara Reserve lies in Southwest Kenya, approximately 280 km West of Nairobi and is named after the traditional inhabitants of the area, the Masai. It borders the Serengeti to the South. The terrain is primarily open savannah grassland that is in places broken up by rocky outcrops, small valleys and clumps of acacia trees and some forest around the rivers. There are 3 main rivers; Sand River (seasonal), Talek River and Mara River. Talek River and the Mara River meet in the centre of the park and continue as the Mara River. It is famous for its wild cats and of course, the annual migration. It is also a great place for birding, seeing larger animals and game.

DAY 2 & 3: Explore the Maasai Mara National Reserve
You will have another day’s taste of life in Mara, a place rich with wildlife. At 07h30, you will depart for full day game drive with packed lunch beginning with early morning views which provide one of the best sightings of wildlife in Maasai Mara. Meals & Overnight will be at Tipilikwani Mara Camp on Full Board Basis.

You have an option of doing an early morning game drive before breakfast at 06h30 and an afternoon game drive at 15h30 or depart for a full day game viewing with picnic lunch that will take you to the Mara River to see the hippos and the crocodiles.

Maasai Mara Game Reserve is an extension of Serengeti National Park in Tanzania and a home of the annual 7th Wonder of the world; The Wildebeest migration. There is an abundance of animals in the park such as elephants, giraffes, and a variety of gazelle species and zebra. You will get to experience the rich wildlife courtesy of the Big 5 animals as well as other wildlife species such as Giraffes, Buffalos, Gazelles and Hyenas among others. Also, you will get to enjoy both the sunrise and sunset over the beautiful Mara Plains which is a sight to behold. Mara is also the Maasai country and one is likely to see the Maasai Morans herding their cattle.

DAY 4: Maasai Mara Game Reserve – Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, you will depart Maasai Mara and head towards Lake Naivasha arriving in good time for lunch at Sawela Lodge. Spend the early afternoon at leisure and thereafter visit Lake Naivasha and go on a boat ride later in the afternoon to enjoy the beautiful sceneries that the lake has to offer. Return to the lodge for dinner and rest for the night. Dinner & overnight will be at Sawela Lodge on Full Board Basis.

Lake Naivasha lies at the heart of the Rift Valley and is one of the famous lakes in the rift. It is a fresh water lake that is located on the outskirts of Naivasha town, approximately 100 kilometers from Nairobi City. The lake has an average depth of 6 metres (20ft) with the deepest part of the lake being at Crescent Island with a depth of 30 metres (98ft). It is home to different types of wildlife including over 400 species of birds and a good number of hippos. One of the main attractions at Lake Naivasha is Crescent Island. It is a private island that is home to various bird species such as Fish Eagle, Herons, Cranes, Pelicans and more. The island also boasts of wild animals such as zebras, giraffes, waterbucks, Impalas among others.

DAY 5 : Lake Naivasha – Amboseli National Park
After an early breakfast, you will proceed to Amboseli National Park with packed lunch for your next adventure. Arrival will be in the afternoon where you will start off with a game drive till evening. Check in at at the Lodge which is within the park. Overnight at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge on Full Board Basis.

DAY 6 : Explore the Land of the Jumbos | Amboseli National Park
On your 2nd day in Amboseli, you will have an early morning game drive that will offer you the opportunity to catch the glorious snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro offering the best photography back drop. You will then continue on a full-day game drive in Amboseli with packed lunch and return to the camp in the evening. Overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge on Full Board Basis.

Amboseli National Park lies at the foot of Africa’s highest mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro (19,340ft). The mountain dominates every aspect of the park and you can get the best views of its snow-capped peak from Amboseli. The park’s fragile ecosystem supports a variety of game and is famous for its large herds of elephants. Swamps and springs, fed by underground rivers from Kilimanjaro’s melting snow, offer a watering place for the wildlife and birds during the dry season. There is plenty to do, including game viewing, walking, visit a Maasai village or visit the Amboseli Research Centre, the longest study of wild elephants in the world.

DAY 7 : Amboseli National Park – Tsavo West National Park
On day 7, breakfast will be served early morning at the lodge. After breakfast, you will check out and head towards Tsavo West National Park. Arrive in time for lunch and a short rest in the afternoon. Later in the afternoon, depart for an afternoon game drive until sunset. Dinner and overnight at Kilaguni Serena Camp on Full Board Basis.

DAY 8: Tsavo West National Park
You will begin with a morning game drive in Tsavo West National Park which is the best time to view wildlife. Thereafter, you will return to the lodge for breakfast and spend most of the day at leisure with lunch included. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive till evening before heading back to the lodge for dinner and a well-deserved rest. Dinner and overnight at Kilaguni Serena Camp on Full Board Basis.

Tsavo West National Park is located in South West Kenya, approximately 270 kilometers from the capital city, Nairobi. It forms part of the larger Tsavo Conservation area which includes Tsavo East National Park and surrounding conservancies. The park is separated from its neighbouring Tsavo East National Park by the Nairobi – Mombasa Highway. Established in 1948, it covers over 9,000 square km land coverage making it the second-largest National park in Kenya. Tsavo West’s star attraction is Mzima Springs which is a pool of natural spring water with underwater viewing hides for viewing hippos. It also hosts a variety of wildlife such as the Black Rhino, Cape Buffalo, Elephants, Maasai Giraffes, Lions, hippos and other smaller animals which include hartebeest, Lesser kudu and bushbaby among others.

DAY 9: Tsavo West National Park – Nairobi
You will have an early breakfast at the lodge and thereafter, depart for Nairobi and arrive at JKIA in time for your flight back home.
